The Mater Institute of Research and Therapy for Blood Cancers (MIRT) is a new organization which aims to drive progress and innovation in the understanding and treatment of blood cancers, through the exchange of ideas and the pursuit of excellence in research and development.
Our goals are:
- To develop diagnostic and prognostic biomarker profiles that will facilitate individualization of Blood Cancer therapies
- To identify “druggable” protein targets leading to novel blood cancer therapies
- To translate scientific observation into direct patient benefits in the shortest possible time span
- To train and mentor the clinician-scientists of the future through our international MD-PHD Program
